A community cookbook compiled by members of the Dorchester Woman's Club in Boston, with recipes (each signed by contributor) for Marietta G. Allen's rule for molasses cup-cake, Christmas pudding, cream pie, banberry pie, spider corn cake, Rhode Island clam chowder (for twelve people), lobster bisque, baked lobster, Shaker fish & egg, etc.
This book has been through a lot, and seems to have survived a fire and a flood, with evidence of both in smoke and water damage. Still, it is in good condition, and with wonderful pictorial ads for Boston shops and businesses. Owner's name and date of 1903 to front free endpaper. Cook p.116
